They have cup and cone bearings for easy servicing and adjustment and good quality rubber seals to keep the weather out. In my mind great features for an urban singlespeed wheelset. The 30 year old grease has been cleaned out and replaced with fresh grease before fitting the axle re-spaced (with stainless steel washers of course) to 120mm. The chainline with a Sturmey Archer freewheel measures at 42mm and they will build as a dishless wheel. Heavy duty track nuts are fitted with revolving washers for a secure fit.
