The medium depth wheel rim is an excellent choice: more manageable than the really deep rims which are prone to be heavy and suffer windage, yet with a little more aero advantage than the plain old shallow rims. This slot has been filled for many years in the Hubjub lineup by the Archetype. Make no mistake the Archetype is not a bad rim, and was one of the leaders in providing a wide medium deep rim. However times change and we think we have a better product in this Kinlin. Even wider and deeper than the H plus Son (31mm depth rather than the 25mm of the Archetype) the weight penalty is amazingly just 20g (490g vs 470).

The XR31 is a little heavier than its slightly shallower cousin the XR22.

As with the other Kinlins we stock, we get the impression they know what they are doing when it comes to their metalurgy. The alloy incorporates nobium allowing for the bigger box section without the weight penalty. The rim is tubeless ready, nach.
