hen we started, we got a lot of requests for wheelbuilding. After brokering a few custom builds, we decided it was time to get organised. We contacted Paul Hewitt. These days, Paul is probably best known as the maker of the ace Cheviot touring cycles, consistent poll-winners. But he started his business as a wheelbuilder, and he's regarded as one of the best. When you order a wheel from Hubjub, we will mail your hubs to Paul with details of your order, and he will ship you your completed wheels.
Paul uses spokes from the DT and Sapim ranges, everything from lightweight Sapim CX-Ray on racing wheels to tough singlebutted offerings on touring setups. His signature approach is to build front wheels slightly more compliant than rear. Although you're welcome to e-mail us with your custom build requirements, most riders will be fine with one of the a la carte options listed here.
For the LeVeL hubsets, we offer our usual four distinct builds. Remember that, although the builds are designated as having a 120 or 135mm rear, you can respace a LeVeL hub quickly and throroughly with a Respacer kit.
