Brrr! Take me back to the present

Jennifer Hopkins, long time south coast singlespeeder and aspiring track star, sends arty pictures of her Kogswell. This was a doubly significant sale, being both the first frame we delivered and the last batch one 54cm Kogswell left in the wild. (Small colonies of 50s and 58s have been reported, however.)

Jenn writes: "Initial findings:
• Kustard shows the dirt.
• 44/16 is fine if you only want to pedal east in the spring. A sou'wester requires something considerably smaller.
• Stripy tyres are the height of cool.
• Vans get stuck in toeclips but pink Converse work a treat.
• 'Normal' people seem to like ice-cream coloured bikes?!
• Fixed is remarkably relaxing, until you take your feet off the pedals...

Dan, one of the select few for whom we actually managed to source Paul hubs, sends photos.

Dan apparently used Mavic Reflex rims and DT spokes in his build. If you want to emulate Dan's all-black style, we can't help you--supplies of Paul Hi-Flanges are too erratic. But we may be able to get you a rebadged version in a tasty gold finish. Watch this space...

Mike sends photos of his new bike. This is another collaboration with those loveable kids at Sorted Cycles, a Soma frame with a bunch of Hubjub-sourced goodies, including wheels built on Phil hubs by our excellent collaborator Paul Hewitt.

Mike says: "The bike rides like a dream - superb!" If you meet him, you should express particular admiration of the Sugino 75 crankset and solid Zen ring.

John, moving tentatively into singlespeeding, bought a Hubjub White ENO with a Paul Hewitt wheelbuild earlier this year.

John put the new wheel into his all-black Cannondale...

...and says of his new setup "For extra ground clearance I bought a Sora 165mm crank, and put on a 41t rocket ring - about as big a front chainring as my frame will allow. I reckon 41/15 is my perfect gear
ratio for London road commuting on 26" wheels. The ENO is a fantastic solution to the vertical drop-out problem. It's turned my bike into a fun-to-ride buttery-smooth urban cruiser with perfect chainline. I love it!" Wish we'd got the spoke colour right, tho...
